Job description
- Safely operate the Roofbolter within designated areas and in accordance with set operating standards in order to achieve set production requirements.
- Operate the Roofbolter to achieve production requirements. Operate and control various types of mechanical equipment and machinery; e.g. Atlas, Sandvik, Boart Roofbolters. Continuously observe/monitor component performance against standards to identify any sub performance / non-conformance or deviations, and report to Supervisor.
- Conduct pre-shift inspection of machines, machine parts, and/or components of the production line to ensure production flow according to standards within prescribed processes and procedures.
- Follow lock-out procedure when equipment is faulty and at end of the shift, including failure time recorded and location of machine/equipment.
- Perform minor maintenance on the Roofbolter by greasing the boom and changing consumables.
- Report all other maintenance issues to the Artisan. Proper operation and care of the machine as per manufacturer’s specifications, and standard operating procedure.
Minimum requirements
- Grade 10 / Standard 8 Certificate.
- Competent B certificate or ability to obtain within required time.
- Code 08 (EB) Driver’s Licence.
- Completion of a relevant, approved training programme.
- 6 months TMM/ RDO/ Blasting Assistant/ LHD Operator experience in a mining environment.
