Job description
- Safely maintain and repair Sandvik Drill Rigs and Bolters to ensure reliability of the equipment to support the mining teams.
Conduct inspection on Drill Rigs and Bolters. Preventative maintenance and attend to both hydraulic, electrical and mechanical breakdowns. - Assess breakdowns and apply appropriate fault-finding techniques.
Participate on equipment improvement initiatives. Proactively identify risks and threats to the equipment maintenance and operations. Ensure any operational risks and threats encountered is reported. - Complete maintenance and breakdown work orders. Create work order notifications. Conduct maintenance administration on the appropriate system. Compile a shift/work order report.
- Ensure engineering construction is according to standards, procedures and specifications. Ensure wastage is eliminated. Ensure commissioning deficiencies are eliminated. Compliance with legal work and mine procedures.
- Conduct mini risk assessment and lock-out procedure in own area of work and within span of control.
Inspection of Drill Rigs and Bolters. Conduct planned maintenance and breakdowns on Drill rigs and Bolters. Continuous identification of defects and damages in time to prevent breakdowns and production delays. - Plan, organise and utilise required components to minimize production delays as a result of equipment or components failure. Equipment is maintained pro-actively and serviced on a scheduled basis to ensure equipment availability and reliability.
- Ensure breakdowns are attended to immediately to restore availability and reported to the Chargehand/Foreman and Control Room. Report and communicate unrepairable equipment to the supervisor.
Minimum requirements
- Relevant Trade Test Certificate.
- N2 Engineering Certificate.
- Code 08 (EB) Driver’s Licence.
- 2 years practical experience as a TMM Millwright in a mining environment.
- 2 years practical experience as a TMM Millwright on Sandvik Drill Rigs, Bolters and LHDs (DD210, DD211, DS210, DS211 and 208L).
